Renovation

Our circular factory was renovated through DIY efforts with the help of over 500 supporters, transforming a former dried bonito flake factory into a vibrant community hub.

Our Initiatives

・Operate a community space that fosters sustainability, environmental awareness, and the circulation of people, goods, and ideas.
・Hosted over 360 workshops on topics such as sustainable living, handcrafts, and food.
・Welcomed 20+ schools for educational tours and lectures (as of 2024).
・Organized beach cleanups and community environmental actions.
・Collected over 10,000 items from 300+ homes, including unwanted household goods and materials.
・Hosted study visits from local governments and community development organizations.
・Run an upcycling online shop and promote energy independence through our waste-oil-powered vehicle.
・Sell organic, eco-conscious foods.
・Maintain a rooftop permaculture garden.
・Hold film screenings on environmental and social topics.
・Facilitate community dialogue through events like "〇〇 no Heya (Open Dialogue Circles)".

About Hiroki Yamamoto

 After spending around seven years abroad from the age of 21, Hiroki Yamamoto began his career as an independent videographer. Following the Great East Japan Earthquake, he shifted his focus toward sustainable living and began producing his own electricity.
 Today, he runs JUNKAN WORKS, a community space that shares and promotes sustainable lifestyles. He also leads Yamamoto Power, a grassroots energy initiative, and serves as the representative director of the NPO Ashibunesha, which promotes organic living across Shizuoka Prefecture.
 As a father and passionate environmentalist, Yamamoto is committed to creating a future where communities are empowered, energy is self-generated, and resources are used in harmony with nature.
